Why Twisted Sister's song lyrics "We're Not Gonna Take It" is the Perfect Anthem for These Days

Not all astrological events are created equal. Some are more intense than others. When we have a planetary traffic jam like the one we are facing now, it’s time to take a hard look, and gather our wits about us. Let’s dissect the Scorpio/Taurus nodal axis shift, and the Mercury and Venus Rx (retrograde).

These sorts of traffic jams are similar to the school teacher who LOVES to spring pop quizzes on us…remember those? All that pop quizzes do is show us what we forgot about, or what in our learning processes we missed, what didn’t “stick.” These are the moments where we get to see where we are, what is left undone, what has been suppressed, buried, ignored, resisted, or just momentarily blocked.

Planetary dances can also show us where as a collective we are surfacing latent, buried, and undealt with trauma. It’s not an accident, it’s sort of the cosmic healer – the planets way of forcing our hand, and urging us to “get on with it.”

As Evolutionary Astrologer Steven Forrest says:
Nodes of the moon – (the moon has it’s own moons) – they reveal karmic debt, what we are leaving behind, and what we are moving into. The south node is the default. The north node is the challenge posed, and the breakthrough. With the south node in Sagittarius since June 2020, we’ve been haunted by the demons of blind belief. Everyone’s opinions have gone thermonuclear. People connect two or three dots, and in the spirit of the dark side of Saggitarius, they come up with a cosmology – or a conspiracy theory.”

The impact of the change in the daily headlines is unmistakable, and it is about to happen again. On December 22, the north lunar node entered Taurus, while the south node backed up into Scorpio. Scorpio represents what we collectively will be dealing with that needs healing, and Taurus will be the lighthouse, the guiding light to move us through these changing and challenging times. Scorpio reveals secrets, buried subconscious fears, and issues unresolved. The kid you bullied in grade school is coming to find you on social media, and don’t be surprised if you get a private message demanding an apology. The energies of Scorpio are not effing around. If you’ve held secrets back from loved ones close to you, those may come to the surface soon. Now might be a good time to fess up, clean up, and look to creating much more stability in your own life. Our personal and collective karma and trauma has come to roost and it’s not leaving until it is seen, heard, and healed.

In the collective, watch as the news media explode and more buried secrets rise to the surface. Expect more celebrity divorces, more controversial revelations, political upheaval, buried rage rising up amongst members of the oppressed in our society, demanding change. “We’re Not Gonna Take It” by Twisted Sister could very well be this year’s anthem. And it could get ugly. Taurus north node will be the strong, steady hand that guides things forward with the safety and security of everyone in mind. Obviously we have to respond to this energy, it’s not going to guide itself.

In the words of Steven Forrest:
Between now and July 2023, all of humanity “needs to go there.” We need to face our collective woundedness. The time has come. Because we are ready to heal. We must never forget that these processes of healing, regeneration, and recovery are the heart of the matter when it comes to the nodes of the Moon.”

The good news is that the south node entering Scorpio means that if you’re ready for some serious healing – the kind that only comes with stark naked honesty and realness, it’s going to happen. Reduced to its bones, this upcoming nodal passage will bring us some truly heroic healing breakthroughs, along with some monumentally bad “acting out” behavior. Taurus defines a particularly effective healing path that is available to us all.

VENUS AND MERCURY IN RETROGRADE:
The two planets closest to the sun, Mercury and Venus are in retrograde together for a while, and during this time we can expect certain aspects of our personal lives to feel as though we are wading against the current. For every step forward it can seem like we take ten steps back and that it is extremely challenging to reach our desired destination.

This could mean that visions we had of how we wanted relationships or personal goals to work out, may now appear to have been fantasies or illusions. Mercury/Venus combined is forcing us to look again at who and what we are trying to manifest in our lives and why.

We will no longer find it easy to remain silent and bottle our emotions just to keep the peace. Mercury’s energy can create haywire with thoughts and feelings, and our emotions will be heightened, causing frustrations and miscommunication with loved ones. We will be struggling to understand those around us, and they will have difficulty understanding us, and our imaginations may be on overdrive. This is why it is always advisable to wait until Mercury’s Retrograde has ended before taking action on anything brought to our attention.

We could see unresolved conflicts suddenly bring about major confrontations. If there are break ups that need to happen, whether with a person, career path, unhealthy habit, delusions, limiting beliefs or perceptions, we are likely to experience the fall out over the next few weeks. If not the fall out, we will gain the clarity needed to start taking steps toward repairing and restructuring so that what is meant to be remains and what is not meant to be in our lives peacefully leaves. Venus and Mercury won’t allow us to remain safe in comfort zones that keep us stuck, replaying old patterns and behaviors that may be externally comfortable but are extremely uncomfortable and unhealthy internally. It is now time to set intentions to align with what resonates and to begin releasing anything out of alignment.

We may find we want to dig deeper to find the depth of our connections, and that we are no longer willing to connect on a surface level. Venus retrograde has been encouraging us to recognize our worth and to realize how we have lacked self-value and self-love due to continuing dynamics with people who don’t appreciate or value us.

We are about to be shown how we are giving other people the type of love we really need to be giving ourselves, and also how important it is to understand what other people need so that they too feel loved. It is likely we will also be reviewing how we have loved in the past, and old flames may return, even if it is just in thoughts and dreams, so we have the opportunity to see where we may have gone wrong and learn some valuable lessons.

Toward the end of January, as Venus Retrograde comes to an end, we will have received numerous breakthroughs regarding how we value ourselves and others and we will have come to the realization that we have been struggling to really believe we deserve love. In turn, we have not fully been able to show others the love they deserve.

Mercury Rx ends Feb. 3. and is here to show us anything that is out of alignment in our lives and to offer us a second chance review unfinished business and then repair, reconnect, reject, restructure or reboot before moving onward.
