Was I a Witch in a Past Life?

We learn about past lives in our own astrology charts through something called The Nodes. The South Node represents patterns of behavior, habit and circumstances we faced in our deep past that need healing. The North Node represents what we are here to discover, learn and become more of. This isn't an astrology lesson. I am here to share my own past life awareness through the nodes, and inspire you to learn about your own!

With Cancer South Node (past lives) – I was likely a Witch in a past lifetime. Moon and Mars placements suggest I was advised (more likely bullied or threatened) to play things safe, or to avoid practices that would put my family in danger. I centered my family of origin over all else, and that means that I prioritized their needs and wishes over my own. I was overpowered in my past life by a strict adherence to rules and authority. This would explain why in this lifetime I have a super healthy mistrust of authority figures. I have a strong, independent and rebellious streak. I resist many societal norms, and I do not subscribe exclusively to one religion. I am surfacing the old ways once again, and no wonder so much of my ritual and witchcraft practices feel so natural.

Strong 8th house placements and aspects in my own chart - suggest I was traumatized by much death around me, and through that trauma, in this lifetime I continue to fight to uphold the narrative that there is a soul and a spirit that lives on after we die. I was also fascinated by the occult in my past lives, which completely checks out. Pluto hovering around my Ascendant suggests my lives have not been easy, they have been filled with devastation, destruction, living through times of great disease and loss. I seek to come back to heal those lives, with a power-filled determination to seek and support transformative efforts in everything and everyone around me.

This lifetime for me is also about centering my own identity and learning who I am separate from my family of origin. I have chosen not to allow the collective system of beliefs ingrained throughout my family lineage to overpower my own inner truths, values, ideals, and philosophies. It has been a long journey of self-awareness, and honestly – it has been one of the scariest paths to forge, because it often means I am going at it alone. It's probably one of the FIRST lifetimes that I am choosing to embrace and live my own beliefs, separate from my family, and sometimes that has brought about alienation, even open criticism. Learning to stand strong in the midst of that has been a process.

I am here to embrace my deep past spiritual gifts, teach others about them, communicate, speak and write about them, and learn to provide for my family (Capricorn North Node and 3rd/9th house axis). I am so passionate about embracing our shadow selves, those deep dark parts of us with lingering hooks of energy stemming from a time gone by.

Exploring the karmic overlays in our astrological charts sets us up to clear the past making way for our soul’s purpose to emerge. It is an interesting study, revealing any patterns we are repeating in this our current lifetime. It grants us a sense of understanding, and restores our own personal power with the knowledge from our deep past. Peace.
